Hello Everyone!
My name is Lisa Rivera. I have been volunteering with Senator Obama's campaign here in Los Angeles since February 2007..
My journey on the Obama campaign trail has been a bit like "Mr Toad's Wild Ride". It has landed me in places I never expected to be, it has been bumpy sometimes, the road was full of twists and turns but I always ended up feeling fulfilled!
Throughout the journey I have met many people just like me along the way. People who never considered themselves "political" or never felt represented by any candidate. That seemed to change for all of us with Barack Obama.
These individuals saw that through Senator Obama we had a chance to change the world we share. Because of that vision; we have all come together to work towards a common goal.
I see that goal as... "A World that Works for Everyone"
I never imagined myself campaigning for any candidate let alone flying somewhere on my "own dime and my own time" to do it. But there I found myself on to Texas and then Pennsylvania to help in any way I could.
I can say with assurance, I feel like I received so much more than I gave. The generosity and openness of the people I have met along the way has given me even more HOPE for the future of our country and the world. I know my story is not unique!!!!
These stories need to be told and shared.
My goal is to get our stories published, before the general election, in time for people to have a chance to read what has been going on in our Grassroots community. How it has affected all our lives. As we all know, we are Team Obama and every spoke in that wheel is needed for it to go around! I would also like to see progressive organizations such as MoveOn.org, The Peace Alliance, Divided We Fail et. benefit from proceeds from this book.

- Was there a situation you witnessed or participated in that left an impression?
- Was there a particular person or persons that inspired you?
- What was it about them that inspired you?
- Was it their courage, selflessness, joy, appreciation, vulnerability, passion or just plain hard work?
- Did you come away from this feeling like you had new lifelong friends or a new family member?
- What was it like for you to take that chance and go somewhere you knew no one for something you believed in?
- Why did you do it?
- What about the Barack Obama campaign gives you HOPE?
I know from my own experiences how interested people are in our stories. Lets come together again to pull them all together and share them with everyone. We can only help Team Obama to grow by doing this!!!!
